Campus & Wireless ISP (Point to Multi-Point)

Wireless broadband point to point connectivity provides flexible, low cost alternatives for cellular and WI-FI hotspot backhaul at distances up to 40 miles (65Kms) at data up to 1 Gbps (depending on frequency, distance, antennas, etc.).

Campus & Wireless ISP solutions are point to multi-point broadband connections from a central location to a number of buildings or other locations with ranges up to 15 miles (24 Kms) and data speeds up to 72 Mbps (depending on frequency, distance, antennas, etc). These may be done with either line of sight (LOS) or non-line of sight (NLOS) depending on the topography and requirements of the network.

Wireless Point to Multi-point networks provide the critical "last mile" in areas where it would be prohibitively expensive to deploy cable/DSL networks as well as providing a low-cost alternative to these services. Equipment usually consists of a centralized base stations and a number of end-user CPEs (customer premise equipment).

The advantages of campus/wireless ISP networks include:

  • Ability to provide "last mile" service where traditional wired service is not available
  • Alternative to costly TIs, ISDN, DSL & cable.
  • Quick deployment with minimal environmental impact.
  • Easily scalable as network requirements grow.
  • Available in both licensed and un-licensed frequencies.

Campus & wireless ISP networks are being used in many areas including:

  • Wireless Internet Service Providers (ISPs)
  • Business Parks/Enterprise Campuses
  • Municipalities Providing Internet access
  • Broadband connectivity for temporary events (i.e. sporting events)
  • Education (public schools, university campuses, tech schools)
  • Health Care (multi-building hospitals)
